May I be a protector for the abandoned, a guide for those who journey,
A vessel, a boat, a bridge for those who wish to cross to the other shore.
May I be an island for those who need to take refuge,
A lamp for those who need light,
A bed for those who want to rest,
A servant for those who need to be served.
May I be the miraculous stone, the vase with great treasure,
The magic formula, the universal remedy,
The wish-fulfilling tree, the cow with endless milk!
Like the earth and the other elements that serve the countless needs
Of infinite beings throughout space,
May I, in countless ways, be of benefit to the beings
Who populate this space, until they are all freed from suffering.
