Thought of the week
For a meditator who knows how to preserve their inner freedom in all circumstances and is never distracted from recognizing the nature of their mind, it makes little difference whether they reside in the solitude of a Himalayan hermitage or are immersed in Parisian traffic jams. But as long as one has not achieved a minimal degree of stability in their practice, they will not be able to maintain the same state of mind in a Parisian traffic jam as in a place where everything one perceives promotes inner peace. [...] Therefore, it is good to take the time to cultivate our inner resources in circumstances that facilitate this training.
